I'm impressed by the optics on that Canon. It rivals my pricey Nikkor 60mm, if not surpassing for this particular application.

which post are you referring to? I have made severaal pictures, with changes in lighting diffusers, looking for one that ginve me the clarity, and NO glare, to determine anything there on the MM, or any other device. BUT, this is with the old camera. The only pictures I have made with the new one is the four, that show the coin on a ramp, at about 8-10". I'm still working on the new setyp, meantime the old one is getting some testing, for effect. Maybe it will come in handy with the new one.
