MDS markers
Obverse
A die scratch runs southwest through the center of the loop of the 6 in the date, and just northwest of the mint mark. Another die scratch runs just west of south under the 9 in the date. Concentric die scratches on jacket. Concentric die scratches on head. Reverse is MDS
Reverse
A die scratch runs west-east through the bottom of the L to underneath the B in PLURIBUS. A small patch of concentric die scratches show just under the IT of UNITED and to the northwest of the left roof tip.

Large date. This variety shows as a very faint extra punching to the north. Later die states of this variety show a chip in the lower R of LIBERTY.
