MDS markers
Obverse
Light obverse die scratches in a N-S pattern. Die dot in field above Y in LIBERTY. Light die crack over B of VDB along edge of bust.
Reverse
Very light fading die scratches through ATES on STATES and EPU has light die scratches E-W. Die polishing to cover a die clash affecting the cornice area on each side of the statue. Also the left side of the statue is disfigured. Reverse is MDS.
LDS markers
Obverse
Very heavy die scratches on obverse especially around date. A longer die scratch runs through 19, MM and to rim. Die scratches above date turn 90 at different angle with a die dot North of last 9 of the date. Die crack above VDB that runs to rim with a die chip starting above B.
Reverse
Die scratch inside column # 2 that is parallel to column. One longer die scratch above left roof to D in UNITED. N-S Die scratches under left base through ONE. Reverse is LDS.
