Thank you for sharing it with us. As far as the lobster/deer part, it apparently is a deer. Each one had different mint marks. Paris had a bee and an anchor, while Birmingham had the star and deer head. Maybe coins were prepared with the basic design 1st then sent to the different mints where the symbols were added later. But that doesn't really make any sense either. All I know is that it's a nice coin and now I'n even more curious about trails and what causes them.
