As the die moves across the hub face, the high points are not the only place on the hub that make contact. The all seem to flow at E-W pattern from the images. An image father back might be more helpful. It could be a trails die with polishing lines. I've collected Morgan dollars for over 50 years and don't have a single one with toning. I look at toned coins and my mind says UGH.
