Found two of these tonight searching an unc. roll of 1970. Looks to be a strong bar above the horizontal bar of the L in LIBERTY. Anyone know if this a known variety or am I just seeing things at 3:30 in the morning

Steven,
There are doubled dies where a bar shows above the L of LIBERTY. 1970S-1DO-011 shows this anomaly. I would say off hand that you have a doubled die there. _________________ Bob Piazza

But when you look at 1961-P Cents you have to consider that they have a lot of them that must have had a hub that was doubled as you see differnet dies striking the smae mark on the L on LIBERTY. Seen enough of them to know they come from different dies. Letters are fatter than the 1961-D Cents. So watch out for this one. _________________ Richard S. Cooper
