The State of Mississippi sucks ass. as everyone knows I am manic
depressant/bipolar.Yall knew i was suppose to get into the hospital to get Me on some meds to regulate My ups and downs. I am not working. Have no money coming in I have applied for ssi But it hasnt cam thro yet. Well in order to get into a hospital that is state funded that I dont have to pay for I would have to self commit myself......... Only problem with that is then the county would take over and I would have to wait in jail for 3 to 4 weeks before a bed would be open. The doctor I am seeing now doesnt know his ass from a hole in the ground. Bottom line is I cant help how I am it isnt exactly that I am mental but what I have I consider more physical then anything cause it is a chemical imbalance in the brain. I would give My eye teeth to be able to work and hold down a full time job where I didnt have anyne to depend on. If I go to a private hospital they wont so much down before they will even give Me an assesment of the situation. Wish I knew a good, low down, cunning, dirty playing lawyer. Then I would possible consider suing the state of Mississippi for not providing addiqute health care for plp that cant afford it. I would sue them not to get rich or even get any money out of them but to sue them so others can become really aware of how our mental health system works around here.
Well thats my udate on the hospital thing> so I guess i just wait and see how I turn out.

Have you applied for welfare? Thier medical assistance should I would think be avalible to you even if no cash assistance or food stamps.. Your not working, no SSI.
Probably dont want to hear that I know.
I wish I could fix it for you or even give you a hug.

welfare here is for if you have kids I cant get medicaid until I get My ssi/diability. I have tried all that. All I ever get is the run around. Just say something does happen and I do go ballistic hurt others or myself (not saying I would ever do that) but point being what if that happen and Me after asking for help who would be responsible. I am almost at My wits end and about ready to give up.

Darrell,
I know you are frustrated, and there is not a lot I can say that'll change that. However, you may need to approach things a little differently rather than from a frustration point of view. You made a point that people who live in boxes seem to get help, and technically, you are correct. Obviously, the way they do that is what is eluding you.
Are there any public mental health facilities there? In some states, these facilities are state funded, and any referrals from them are funded as well. I don't know what Mississippi has, but as a former counselor in the Air Force, I know they exist.
The WORSE thing you can do is give up. Persistence is a key here. If you feel you are getting a run-around, then ask those people what your next step should be. Be persistent, but not arrogant. You will be surprised what politeness can get you.
I would also ask the social security folks what you can do in the mean time.

your situation, tugs on my heart strings..more than i'am comfortable sharing here (in depth)i've been a 'box' person more than once),i've been institutionalized..i've given up (before)Read past tense.. obiviously, unsuccessfully..i've more care and concern for you than:(easily grasped by you; nor easily sharred by me through these brief words..' Chemically imbalanced' is among many of the 'labels' or descriptions the medicall and psyscr fields have(per-scribed) for me,,,affecting my brain...which in turn affects my life...ssi as a "rule" denies more 1st time claims than it approves.the 'run around 'is beyond belief (other than for those, who've been, 'rung' through it).still could use some assistance myself, unemployed, unassisted,un,un,un .personnaly i enjoy the poster with the picture of a little kitten (PIC:bareley hanging on with just a claw) at the end of a rope >.>stating "just hang in there" <.> really has alot of meaning to it .<. < - > .>. the strongest trees in the forest are the ones that stand the strongest winds. attitude is everything TTTTTTT ... .................................... As some1 who is disabled i can tell you from personal experiance that the system counts on people giving up. So dont give up and do your best to keep your chin up i had to fight for 4 years to get my ssi but michigan has a state disability program. Count on being denied from ssi and you should prob start thinking about getting a lawyer but be careful and search for a good 1 because it makes all the difference in the world. I hope you find a way to get all your med problems under control it took me 12 years and 3 surguries to start feeling better. I wish you the best of luck but dont give up fight and appeal every negative descion they make and in the end you will get what you need

Okay First things first.
Ty all for your advice and your support I appreciate it .
OKay second........I have apllied for ssi been turned down twice..I have a lawyer that is working on the case. In feb. it will be officially 2 yrs since I have been waiting. I have to go before My judge. My laywer has done all that He can for me for now. I keep hearing all over that it is your lawyers fault cause he gets so much of a percentage if you win. WEll case in fact I have called the main office of social sercurityand found out that they are just back logged. They say I should go before a judge to hear my case sometimes in feb.
Okay Third....MY Lawyer is also My state representative. He was using His powers as a State Rep To get me into a hospital. He called His office in the state capital. I talked to a woman there that got the ball rolling. She reffered Me to another woman in the state department of mental health. She told Me in order to get into a state hospital I would have to self commit Myself. Well, I was going to start that process. I call My chancery clerks office and that said, If you self commit then the county would take over. If the county takes over then I would sit in the county jail until a bed became availiable. (I thought that sucked). Well I call the hospital where I would be commited at to find out if that is true......They said yes. They suggested I get My therapist To do an involuntary commitment in which case if she stated, I wasnt a harm to myself or others, I could wait at home till a Bed became avaliable..
Okay fourth...... I talk to My therapist and they really didnt want to commit Me since if they did it would be in there hands. They suggest I have someone else commit Me to get into the hospital. Then I told My therapist that the powers to be (department of mental health) knows what is going on. So she suggested since I didnt like this doctor that I had ( and yes they have had more complaints then just me from about this doctor ) that she would try to get me into another one of there offices to see another doctor to get Me on some medication and to regulate Me. So She is in the process of getting me into see another doctor.
Okay fifth and I think last.......... The woman from the department of mental health is sending me a formal complaint form to fill out. I would say after I fill it out The woman and I make an appointment together to go in,To the office of the doctor unannounced, look at My records talk to other patients about the dostor and talk to the staff.(staff being My therapist which is also the office manager and everyone else there). I just figure and hope that after all of this is said and done this doctor wont be around for much longer.
I know this was long and drawn out, But was necessary to give you the complete picture. Hope you understand now. Any questions please ask.
Also again thank everyone for your support and your prays. And just thank you for letting me get it all off my shoulders. I say the plp at coppercoins (except for hornymommy and the other bots that chuck takes care of every week) are the greatest. Thank you for letting me vent. Now time to search some pennies.

I hope it works for ya but i gotta tell ya it took 4 years for me to get ssi but when you get it you will be ok. And sounds like a good choice for a lawyer mine is a state rep himself and a workers rights advocate. Good Luck
