This lovely auction for a lot of wheats. Notice in the pictures the 1955 DDO coin has slid in its holder so you cant see it. I emailed him for a picture of that coin but I have gotten no response.

This bottom one is just Weird....

The set is probably missing the 55/55. It's one of those albumns with clear plastic on both sides so where the coin is missing you see the coin on the next page shifted over depending how they opened the book. It also looks like it's missing other key ones.

See what the seller says Very Happy

The auction on the bottom is clearly just another of tens of thousands of cases on eBay where some buffoon decides what they have and what it's worth with no research and no clue. They waste money to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars annually listing such auctions. Unfortunately they are of no surprise to me.

From what I see it would not even be worth it if they did throw in the cat. Lot of nothin much there. Save the money and buy a decent 14D.

You found a 14D, and it was floating?

This does not compute....please verify Laughing Laughing Laughing

Seriously, was it a 14D cent? I haven't found one in 38 years of collecting.

Could be right Bob. She said floating on the bottom. Not that wouldn't be a sight to see. The 1914-D part, not the floating on the bottom. LOL

Bob, I'm sure Catherine meant it was loose!
Catherine, I agree the second enay link is WEIRD!!! If those CULLS that were shown in both auctions are "par for the course", I'm a rich man!
CD, I'm getting your weather reports, and for Gbe, down there in FLA., It, (the temperature), can, and will drop thet fast, even faster! People haven't learned yet, you don't second guess Mother Nature!
Coop,That woul;d be a sight! Now if it were a "wooden Nickel", yes it would float! Remember guys, this "pile of loot" that Cathy is so willing to share with us, was the results of Grandpop, and includes his efforts of 47 years, plus maybe he was a collector, too, maybe. Nothing Cathy comes up with will surprise me, now! BTW, Cathy, did you say there were other denominations there, too?
Cathy, Keep warm, keep well,
Dick

I think the cat put the collection together and placed the ad.

And I agree with Steven. 1914 D cents are relatively inexpensive as scarce to rare coins go. There are seven on this list. http://www.harlanjberk.com/unitedstatesco/text.asp?title=Lincoln+%A2&inventorygroup=us I have an elongated 1933 Chicago Worlds Fair cent that was made with a '14-D. How about that!

yes, the obverse of that coin is clear as a bell. It must have been near AU when elongated. Easily a four figure coin today.
