I went through a few rolls of the 1974 cent looking for the large and small date that Chuck was talking about. I did find this very easy to do after he said how to go about it I found nine in two rolls.The in god we trust in the large date is closer to the rim and the nine is more rounded,but the 4 did not look wider might just be my eyes thanks it is always nice to find something you saw here on this forum.

Bruce: That is an odd amount of both dies. Usually they run a lot closer to even up of each. But check this out. The reverses are different on both dies. The large date has a double line on the top of the podium. The small date has no line there and has a weak statue on them. I've used that to tell when you have a question about which it is. _________________ Richard S. Cooper
