At the library, which does have power. We have been without power since Friday evening, the ice storm that came through here has done billions in damage, to include all of my trees. People have been sleeping without heat for days, shelters filled up the first night, many have noplace to go.
National guard in the area helping clean up, Governor filed for and received Federal disaster status for the area. Over 2 inches of ice in the trees - the ones that are actually still standing. More than 300,000 people without power state wide in a band that (in this area) extends from 35 miles north of Springfield to ten miles south. Beyond that ten mile stretch, everything is normal.
Not sure when we will have power, utility co. is saying Friday at best.
So...I'm not online and into business until the day after my power comes back on, whenever that is. I'll probably be able to get back into coins next week early...probably Monday. Any packages expected from me will have to wait until then. Complete work stoppage without power.
Gotta go, people waiting.
Chuck

As cold as it has been here, it is still hanging on. So more is heading your way. It hit a 17 year low in temp here. Teens for temp is really unusual here. We'll be back in the frying pan before too long though.

You can say that again.
Last week we had warm days then yesterday it was 13 below freezing on my thermometer when I went to work. Amazing for Phoenix!

Hang in there Chuck. I lived through one of those ice storms a few years back when we were out of power for a week and know they be really aggrivating. You can clean up the limbs and build back anything that was destroyed by falling trees. Just be glad you're not hurt. Hopefully you have some kinda heat.
We had three families staying with us because we had a wood stove that was used not only for heat but also to cook on. The good thing was, we had plenty of wood to burn because we lost every tree in our yard too. Some were folded down onto the ground like bananas.

Power came back on this morning, so I'm at home again. We still have thousands in the area without power, and it could be the weekend before they see their lights again. Last night's low was 10, so a lot of people were sleeping in the dark as well as the cold. The ice is over an inch thick on the branches, and I have lost all the trees in my back yard - just crap - now I have to go cut apart my favorite reason for living here.

Nice to see you back, Chuck! Glad the only thin(s) damaged were the trees. THey, can be replaced.
Coop put on his long-handled drawers, when the temp hit60, and when it went to 32, he put on a 2nd pair!
Darrell, brace yourself, the snow, and ice is headed your way!
The bad part of it is, that there is more on the way. We will ge hit with high winds, and rain, maybe more snow, and we are only 1700' alt. in The "land of the liquid sunshine". I feel sorry for all of you who have suffered with the ice, and snow. It makes one happy to know that there are those who care, especially when we know the folks who are suffering, in one form, or another. I expect, with "EL NINO", aboard, we can expect to see more of the same, for a while. Hang in there guys, we are giving all our moral support, where we can't offer more.
Dick
