This one at MS63 went for $66. Is that a bit overpriced?

Garry,
My personal opinion as that it's overpriced at $66. Even the Cherry Pickers Guide lists it at $25 for an MS65. It seems as though only 3 people did the bidding on that coin. Be that as it may, Die # 8 is a pretty strong doubled die and a nice one to have in your collection. They are not offered for sale too often, but I have seen them sell for substantially less. If you are looking for one, hold tight for a bit. I am sure another one will come up for sale soon, without the $66 price tag.

I can remember a time within the past five years that these were easily available at $15 in red BU. I can't imagine the market has gone that far in such little time, but I guess it's possible.

This guy linked your site to his ebay ad, Chuck. I had asked this guy if he was sure he had a real 1972 die #8 and showed him your link and he added it to the ad. Interesting. Razz

I won the coin by the way. Wink

Hmm...odd. Well I guess that's good enough for free advertising. Thanks.

OK, I received the coin today. It is full red and seems to have some blue highlights, it is a very appealing coin. Is it a Die #8? It doesnt appear to have the die marker over the T in TRUST

here is a bad photo of the obverse.

That split serif on the "2" really pops out at me.

Good coin!
