The thing with the new doubled dies is that they are relatively minor, and only very specialized collectors worry about them.
I dont know how much luck you will have selling them on ebay, but Im sure that there must be someone out there on ebay interested in them.

There are many minor ones, thousands of varieties. Few folks want every type so they have no reason to pay $10 for any specific one, if they got a box of circs they can find some minor varieties themself. If I find one I'll keep it but how often do folks spend $10 on a very minor one?
If listed for 1 cent plus 1.99 shipping that still leaves $1.61 profit minus the stamp. If you get a bank box and find a few rolls of one type and sell em cheap (over time not all at once) you can make a few hundred $ to keep or buy one of a major variety that's a better investment.
This was sort of what I was asking when I put up the post asking what everyone thought was a "collectable variety".

Okay, so I'll chime in...
VERY few of the newer dies being found are even enough to tweak MY interest, and I am a specialist. Most of the doubled columns and wavy steps just aren't something I would have enough interest in to buy them. There's a good chance it will be VERY difficult to find anyone to buy them for more than a couple of bucks per coin, because they are very minor, very recent, and very plentiful.
That's a lot of verys, but that's my opinion.
I see too much attention being placed on these very minor anomalies around here, and generally I just keep quiet about them. People finding them left and right, having fun doing so, but I would never count on them to make money - they just won't. This part of the hobby is around to have fun, not make money. Have fun searching through the new cents looking for all the doubled feet you can find, but don't count on them to make financial ends meet...it simply won't happen.
In order to make any money on die varieties you have to be back in the years that have established, valuable die varieties, and you have to cherrypick those and sell them.

well your words was true I shall give you that. But not all of us have the resources or the money to go out and buy the older BU rolls to search thru. Yes I was hoping some of My coin collecting would help in some finacial way. Cause with my luck if I had a pot to piss in hell someone would come take it away. Coin collecting is fun I will agree there. But when you are like me and virtually have nothing. then what the hell does it matter any way. Since they wont sell which I have tried selling them and with My stress level of keeping up with them and knowng what I have when I have it. Guess I willl just have to find them take pictures of them to remember them buy and pitch them back in the muck to go back to the bank. Guess My ideas of coin collecting was just dumb founded.

Sometimes finding the good ones does not require a fortune, just time and effort.
For example if you see a good deal on a good roll with possible great varieties like 36, 41, 72, 83, 94, 95, 98, 99, 00 (and many more with $100+ possibilities) and you get the roll search it you might find good ones. Then you can sell the roll if you got a good deal buying it you might make money on the roll or atleast get the money back for the next roll. Many roll buyers just want nice coins OBW or not they sell. Keep doing it long enough and you will find something good. Go to shows and look at the stuff, you might pick out some variety among the stuff without buying anything to search.
The rolls don't need to be BU, there are 41 and 36 circ rolls for cheap and everyone does not search rolls. Some dealers sell modern rolls for 75 cents or $2 so you can re-sell them to get it back.
One warning... For me some years I tried and tried but never find the big one. The best finds I made were unexpected and oddball stuff but some is good stuff. Keep looking

well basically I am quitting other then what I said I would do earlier cause I do not have the means to travel to shows or there are never shows around Me. Who Gives a flying .... any way. I have been waiting on the system(government) for over two years now for some help. But no they would rather put there money in all there warmongering they are doing instead of helping the american plp that really need the help. So I will say this if they do not come thru soon then the word "POSTAL" wont even describe what I will do. Cause at this point I really dont give a rats ass what happens. I try and try and try and still get the **** shot down.

Gentlemen, you all have good points to make, and we all have hopes of finding the "pot at the end of the Rainbow". It "just ain't there"! We check every coin that comes down the pike, and they all begin to look alike,....except, once in a while one comes along that just doesn't look riight. And it gets a closer look. It turns out that it isn' the BIG one, frankly, because all of them are already well located, (in some one's collection, and/or safety deposit box! The most affluent ones are the ones who end up with the "crown Jewels", but once in a while one just a bit less worthy, comes along, and isn't noticed, because "all the good stuff" is gone. I, like others who "don't have a pot to piss in, or a window to throw it out of", live from pension check, to pension check, but we have one thing that sets us apart from the rest: we know where we are, and try to live within our means. Some time it does not allow one to buy a box of cents, ($25.00), but other times it does. We pinch our pennies, and are smart enough, or lucky enough, to have found a forum like ours. Then we share what we have . Some share their knowledge,, and expertise, others the coins that they get, and don't collect, for others who like that particulat anamily, (sp), and then we trade. My coin collecting has never been a "prime" source of pleasure, because I had to serve my time in the service, retire, and then "go to work", to support my family. The coins I could have had, (now) all went to feed the kids! Now the kids are all grandparents, and we are left with our pensions. It isn't much, but as long as it provides us, (me), enough to stay very busy, trying to find what everyone seems to be finding, and posting, then I am happy! How about you???

Darrell, you just said it! You have a room-mate that is willing to "support" you. That in itself, says a whole lot! She, or he, as the case may be, is compassionate, and considerate enough to want to help you, when you most need it. That is whole different way of doing, that not too many people would do. Too many are too "self-centered" and inconsiderate of their neighbors, that they could care less. Be thankful for the help, and compassion she gives, freely, of her own heart, and is willing to "hang in there", in spite of all that "comes to face. Patience, my friend. It is one of the few things we have, or should have, and it didn't cost a thing. THink positive, and think to yourself, that "If you believe long enough, and strong enough", that things will change, they will! You can take the position that things can't get any worse, because they sure as hell will! Believe it. It is your choice. Go for it! Sincerely,
Dick

Darrell,
You are reading what people are telling you, but you aren't understanding it. It is true that Chuck or I have the power to just get rid of you from the forum, but that is the exact opposite of what we want to do. You need help, and the folks here are offering you that. Your words and actions tend to scare people away. We don't want that either. Please just re-read the advise and kind words these fine people of the forum have written to you. Those are not the words of folks who don't care. Since none (or few) of us know you personally, it would be easy to just ignore everything, but they don't choose to do so. I think that once you realize that, you will be well on your way to helping yourself.
