This has a light D to the NE and a Large Die crack running E-W across the top of the VDB.

My first suggestion is to back off a ways from the mintmark. I'm guessing 1960-D, but not sure. The second image is a crack over the VDB. This happens to about 20 % of the dies, variety and regular coins. If this is a RPM, then it would not be an error, but a variety. But when taking /editing images of a RPM, show the Date and mintmark in an image not exceeding 800 pixels. I try to make mine 600-800 depending on the image. (this way you don't have to scroll across the message box to read other posts as a wider image makes the box wider and harder to see all the letters without scrolling.) The ones for the site in the listings are 400 X 300. so an extra large image, too close doesn't help. The best way is to crop the image showing the date and the mintmark with a little space to show all edges. This way if we suspect it is from a certain die we can do an overlay with images from the site/compare to other information or compare it with ones from our collection. The 1960-D has the most of any year and I have a bounch that aren't listed yet. Some too minor may never get listed. But listed ones are show on the search on the home page on the left side of the screen. Click on search the site and choose year/mintmark/variety for RPMs direction, doubled dies OBV or REV. SO try editing this image and well see what we are looking at. When you focus on your coin try this. Focus on the field around the RPM instead of the top of the mintmark. This way it will be in focus. So here are a few suggestions.

David, if you will check your camera application, it will tell you how to change the format on the camera, and allow you to select different pixels sizes. I would NOT trying to "rsize" in Photobucket, because I had problems along that same line, and I had to re-up the photos several times, and decided there had to be a better way. I use 320x300, and it seems to be just about right.

Rhubarb: I still don't see anything in the image. That doesn't mean there isn't something, its just that I can't see if. You might try rotating your coin 45 degrees to see if the light will show it better. sometimes a cross light will show the raised area with a shadow. Right now I see nothing. When taking images rotated, turn the coin back to the straight to the world look later. It helps see things in perspective. I'm still guessing 1960-D. Is that really the year? You haven't reveraled that information yet. So if you re-take image try showing all the numbers on the date and the minmark so we can see the year, seperation on the mintmark, location of the mintmark and we will see what you have. From what I can see on your coin, it is a LDS example with the heavy die flow from the 6 in the date to the rim. Looks like a die gouge east of the mintmark. Will take another look when you post another image.

Rhubarb, forgive me if I am wrong, but I get the impression that you are calling out, an RPM, which , (to me), looks to be what it is. I would go along with the idea it is a 1960-D. You said you had 4 bags of them. It looks like you opened one!

Dick, I think I am calling out a RPM. I really don't know them except by using this website. I'm waiting on a RPM book by Dr. Wiles.
You are correct on the 1960 D penny, I will post picture's later this afternoon showing the date and not so big.(I thought I fixed that) I have other dates of memorial's and close to 30,000 Wheat pennies from 1930 to 1958. I do know where these wheat's have been since the mid 60's. A collector as myself had these in his closet, he decided to sell them. I'm waiting on 85 roll's from 1910 to 1929. I don't know the exact date's yet. needless to say I will be busy for a while.
When I receive the book's I will be able to view the coin and look quickly at the books. I have Mr. Daughtrey's book Looking Through Lincoln Cents and it will be very helpful once I finish reading it. Thank you coppercoins.
coppercoins, I know this is a error forum for Lincoln Memorial, I hope it's ok to post a RPM every now and then if I don't know.
Thank's again
David

DAvid, I think you will find that this forum is dedicated to COPPER coins. You will find IHC, world coins, too. There is a place for each category, and there are many of us who check the other areas frequently, for that very reason.
Errors,. and Varieties are what we do best, and it doesn't have to be a memorial!
Coop can help you in the photos area. He uses Photoshop, and is as proficient, as any in the forum, plus he has posted many very helpful ways to do the "photos". I don't have PS, but my camera allows me to pre-size the format, so it isn't oo big. In this line, the photoshop, (or other photo-ap), can give you a means to crop the image to the size you want Just ask him.
Don't feel like I'm putting you down, BOB. Because you are the Best, you have the biggest load, and we don't believe in wearing a good "horse" down!
Looks like you hit "paydirt" with the wheats. Happy hunting!
Dick

Dick, I don't feel like you are, heck I like to have fun too. Everyone here has been great with the information concerning the different error's and varieties. I must have mis-inturpreded a statement in a previous post. Every thing is fine.
"Don't load the horse, just load the wagon" I think that's the way it goes.
I started out just to buy and resell until I came across this website. Now this wagon is full.

David: Keep in mind when you come across duplicates, that other collectors don't always find the same dies that you do. So I try to trade as much as possible. That way you get something you don't have and I get to get something I don't have. If you have a duplicate soemtimes they can be sold. So don't toss them back when you find duplicates. There is always a use for them. Remember, anything to toss back intocirculation, you'll probably never see that coin again.

David, Coops words are SO true! I , (before I became a member of the forum), used to go thru a box of cents, looking for the obvious, RPM's, Doubles, die cracks, etc. I had in my hand a nice looking 1994-D, or maybe a "P", with the doubling in the 1th, and 11th bays. Not knowing anything about them, I sent it back to the bank, with over half of the cents, not even looked at! TRY ME NOW!!!!
