Chuck, I made a set of those, right after I first joined the forum, ad they sure work fine. Even better, when unloading them! I almost have it down to where I can dump the slide into a tube!

[quote="coppercoins"]A tip for finding the oddball reverses while looking through coins under a microscope...
shape a 1X2 piece of ash long enough for a half roll of coins into 1/4" x 1 5/16" with a planer.
Chuck,
Does it have to be ash? or does the other woods affect the coins?

Chuck, I was reading your post, again, and noted the 1973. I also have a batch of them, ('59-2006), on my desk, atr this moment, and got curious about the 1973. I checked the rev, and find the "wide" A-M, but after checking both further back, and also forward, I don't find a reason for the exclusion of that date. Would you please elaborate? Thanks,
Dick

Hi Dick,
I'll take a swag at that one!
Because the 73 cents have different designer initials. (it's unique to that year) If you look at one you will see the FG is bigger and the top of the F is about level with the top of the buildings base.
It has nothing to do with AM because everything in that range is the same AM.
So probably what CD is thinking is to look at the FG and if it has the different pre 73 style or the different after 73 style then you discovered a new variety. Often when they transition there is a possibility of a variety, maybe they used an older reverse die or the next years that was being made near the end of the year. CD's smart about knowing where to look for something different than normal for any given year.
