Dick,
I'm trying to use a hand held camera thru a 20x len's. I know it isn't very up to date when it comes to picture's. I will send the coin to you will pm me with your address. This is the best I can do until I know exactly how to take correct picture's.

Stephen,
The marker's aren't visiable on this coin. I can not say that it's a 1934D-1MM-003. The marker's aren't there to suggest that it is official.

David,
The markers wouldn't necessarily have to be there. Can you send me a clear photo of the date and MM like in the second site photo. I will try an overlay for MM location. That may help some.

David, there are several who use the same technique as you for their photos!. They use 10X, I believe, but 20X should work if the lens is firmly anchored the proper distance from the camera, and the coin at a known, good distance from the lens. Takes a bit of "fiddling" but will give pretty good results. Is your camera a "dual mode",? By that I mean is it a video capable, as well as a digital camera?

Wow it looks very close but hard to be sure.
RPM-3 is a D/D/D/D !!!!
You might look very close at the top of the D.
On RPM-3 one of the images hangs over the top (north) and slightly right (east) but it is weaker than the lower image you are looking at.
Try looking for that on the top of the D, if you see it then pretty sure it's RPM-3, if not it still might be since in later states that top section vanishes.
It shows up on the one listed in the Cherry Pickers book.
They say the early state showing all 4 Ds is rarer.

DAvid, as far as you sendimg the coin to me, I don't think I could be of much help in that way. I think you want a photo of it to make it easier to determine the status, and if you check with Steven, I believe he can help more than me. my equipment is not much more than yours!.

Dick,
The majority of the time I use a 30 x loupe, I will use a 20x loupe and so on for the pictues farther away. I don't know if this is the recommended way. Thank's for all the help.

Dick, what do you mean by "painted himself into a corner"
I'm only trying to be honest about what I'm doing and how I'm doing it.
