I just came from the bank, and after looking through a couple of rolls, I find 3 2000 type 2 reverse cents in just one roll. The weird thing is also that those coins were the only 2000 dated coins in the whole roll.
Makes me wonder if they were put aside by someone collecting them, and without knowing them through them into the roll and deposited them at the bank. Anyways, I kinda wished they were dated 1999

Gabe
Type 2 on reverse on a 1999? What would that mean?

For circulation coins, type 2 reverse exist for the years 1998, 1999, and 2000.
The ones from the year 2000 being the most common, and those from 1999 being the rarest. The ones I found in the roll are probably worth a couple of dollars each, but had they been dated 1999, they would have been worth a couple of hundreds of dollars each.

Gabe - be careful to state that the 1998, 1999, and 2000 are all that are known...not all that exist. We still don't know everything that exists out there, and leading people to believe that these three dates are all that can be out there might keep them from looking through the other possible dates and making an exciting discovery.
At one time we didn't know the 1992D close AM existed...somebody had to be the first to find it.

Your right Chuck.
I have been looking at the reverse of every 1997, 2001, 1992, and 1993 cents. This is all just in case, in case there is more to be found.

Also, would like to add that I just found my first 1997 1DO-001 within the same batch of rolls . I had always wanted to find this one myself, and for that reason never bought an example of the coin.
The coin is not in beautiful Red Mint state, but it will do for now.

The nice thing about one not having found one of those really nice coins, is that we here on the forum have the privilege of knowing one who did! congratulations!
