A 2005 P MN 25c die clash quarter I found today searching BU rolls...
The clash is visible on the obverse and reverse. The outline of the reverse center tree is about 2/3 complete (just below and left of the ear). The bolder tree looking thing even farther to the left is actually from the space between the trees (think inverted trees). A little bit of the "Rocks" area from the reverse shows around the ear and the ear area clash distorted the "Rocks" area on the reverse. This one might be a DDO, too. Or it just could be caused by the clash. I can't tell. Either way, it is a keeper. It is a pretty nice clash and really easy to see.
This one is pretty tough to miss. It looks like Washington has a loose curl.

Ken,
There are quite a few clashed dies on the Minnesota State Quarter. I have a few tubes worth of anything from minor, to pretty strong like yours. A nice result of the clashes is the curvy marks in the water in front of the boat. These marks are from some of the hair detail.
There is someone on EBay who is selling a clashed die quarter that shows these marks as 'Trout' jumping out of the water
Nice clashed die though.

I remember seeing those 'Trout Jumping' MN quarter listings but didn't realize it was a clash. But now that you mention it, it does make sense. The nice thing about the State Quarter program, is that it won't be the same looking clash year after year -- and it makes things more interesting.
I've started a little clash collection lately. I like them, even though there is not much collector interest in them. That just makes it a cheap hobby.

Beautiful job of "matching! Now I begin to see what some of those "marks" in areas that shouldnt have any" are showing. At the time, it didn't dawn on me that they might be clashes!. I guess it is time to take a break in the cents area, and do abit of reviewing. I, too love the clashes, and cracks.

I agree guys. Some clashes are just plain awesome, and I collect them as well. I have numerous cents where the clashed portions of the TY of LIBERTY is seen in the first two memorial bays. 1972D was a great year for clashes. I have quite a few 1995 cents with clashes on them as well including numerous 'prisoner cent' and other clashes. If anyone wants an example or two, just send me a SASE and they'll be on their way!

With as many DDRs that exist in the Minnesota quarters, I have to believe that at least one has to exist where the dies clashed and an image of the "center tree" or "rocks" outline on the obverse may show and included the remnants of the doubled area as well.

Mine didn't show the "trout" - so I picked one up off of ebay just to have it.
I did find another MN clash today. It would have been very bold, but the mint practically destroyed the coin polishing most of it out (the part in front of the ear and below the curls is nearly flat). But bold remnants of the "Rocks" area are clearly visible behind the ear. The tip of the center tree can be seen, too.
And for anyone interested in clashes - Billy Crawford released a new issue of DVN today and it includes a section on clashes that puts this one to shame. It is the first section of issue number 6. Here is the link:
