I don't go out of my way looking for these but I find a few while searching circulated rolls. It makes sort of a mini collection. Of course I'd rather find some big DDOs
These are bicentenial designs, the moose might be a moose lodge but it's a 1976 so it's bicentenial
USA, liberty bell, soldier with 13 star flag and cannon, moose
These are Kennedy designs, the date 1963 for JF Kennedys assasination then they came back on the 1972-73 cents. I can't say if they changed the face on the later ones was it RF Kennedy? but he was assasinated in 1968, does anyone know if the later ones were RF or JF? The 1969 is a Mason symbol.
These are moon landing designs, the lunar lander on the moon with crew walking, command module orbiting and earth on the horizon dated 7-20-1969. Not sure about Abe with the pipe, maybe someone knows if he was selling tobbaco or ready for a toke at woodstock in 1969? Also not sure about the S on the 1968, anyone know?
Some of the Lincoln/Kennedy cents came glued to a fact card, I have one that somebody gave me and it says:
Lincoln was elected in 1860
Kennedy was elected in 1960
Both have 7 letters in their names
Both were shot on Fridays.
Both were shot in presence of their wife.
Both focused their work on civil rights.
Both had their elections contested in court.
Kennedy had secretary named Lincoln that warned him not to go to Dallas where he was shot.
Lincoln had a secretary named Kennedy warned him not to go to the theater where he was shot.
In both cases the next president/successor was named Johnson (Andrew Johnson then Lyndon Johnson)
Both names had 13 letters.
Both were southern democrats.
Lyndon was born in 1908.
Andrew was born in 1808.
Booth was a southerner favoring unpopular ideas.
Oswald was a southerner favoring unpopular ideas.
Oswald shot kennedy from a book depository/warehouse then hid in a theater.
Booth shot Lincoln in a theater then hid in a warehouse.
Booth was murdered before his trial.
Oswald was murdered before his trial.
Booth and Oswald were born almost 100 years apart.
Lee Harver Oswald and John Wilkes Booth each had 15 letters in their names.
Lincoln and Kennedys bodies were both carried in the same caisson.

ED, that is a nice post. Brings back a bit of history. I only have, (maybe had), a JFK stamp, but I don't know if I still have it, or recycled it!

I guess you could call that last one a 1968 S/D.

I've seen a few Cents marked with the different States and I think I've seen the collection sold on Ebay.
I had the idea for the 1999 Cents to mark them Y2K ON THE WAY! and to put on 2000 Cents Y2K NO SHOW! But like all other good intentions, it didn't happen. I guess not having access to a punch that I could get ruined those plans. Oh well, a few more Cents not distroyed...

Eric: Smed has some Clinton Halves that you might appreciate. Maybe he will post them or PM them to you.

I have a friend in Louisville who has a set of "statehood pennies" for sale @ $10...a couple years ago. Not sure what they go for now. I've found a few of them in going through my change. I've never seen Lincoln smoking the pipe or the cannon one, butI have seen the Kennedy Lincoln and the Masonic cent. You got some nice ones.

I don't have the pics any more, but I'll try to remember and take some and post them.
