Now if this 'strike through' does not get your attention, I don't know what will. I found this in a 22 coin mint set a while back. What a crater!



I also found this Satin Finish 2005 Sac with a strike through. But this time, the gunk was still on the coin. The black tar-like stuff stuck to the coin like glue and it left a nice little hole in the coin after I pulled it off.

Ken, that nickel looks like a big chunk of lamination, that was anchored to the grneral area below "IN GOD". I could be wrong. No idea as to what the "gunk" was.
