Ok... So tell me just how weak is a weak D? How do you tell them apart? And is the Weak D really anything I should be worried about having?

Cathy - a weak "D" on the 1922 does command a premium over the regular "D" version. Although not as mutch as no "D" die 2 and 3, you can still see prices 3 to 4 times higher for it than a similar 1922-D in their respective grades.

Just to put things in perspective, certainly not saying what you should or shouldn't collect:
PCGS Prices
1922-D MS63BN $100.00
1922 weak-D MS63BN $550.00
1922 no-D Weak Rev. MS63BN $3,250.00
1922 no-D Strong Rev. MS63BN $27,500.00
Good luck, Mike

drwstr123 ... that only shows me that I need to photo my 22's and see what ya'll think of them. I could use the 27K.... or even 550.00

I have a full red 22 D I sent for grading. It was in my Uncle Sam iron penny bank from when I was a kid...
I hope to get that back any day.

Cathy, you seem to be on a roll. Keep it up! one of those 22, no "D", strong reverse might jusy be what the Dr ordered.

Please keep in mind, I gave PCGS's list price. First American Numismatics has just listed a MS61BN for an ask of $29K. I'd love to see some pics. Who did you submit to for grading?
Good luck and I wish you the best. Mike
