I posted one of these cuds earlier. But I just got its mate -- the same die, but just a little more broken -- so I thought I'd put both up for comparison.

Great looking error. someday I hope to find one. To find two from the same die and with more breaking away of the die is a nice progression piece. Great Find!

The Great Find was made by a guy that worked in a bank back in 1975. I had to buy these little sweeties. The seller told me he found about 60 of them in a mint bag - most of them from the earlier stage. I'd be curious to know just how many there are -- i.e. how long does it take the mint to discover such a serious defect?
