This coin has a line or a curved line following the D on top. On the South side of the D inside it's filled in. I have looked at the 39 D coin's pictured here. I was hoping some one could clear this up.

Can't tell exactly the mark inside, but looks close to 1939D-1MM-001

The die state could be earlier thus the weaker RPM? But would need another image to show the top and inside at a different angle. Some of the time the RPM get stronger on later examples because of die wear. Some of the time the RPM get weaker as the RPM flows into the field. But location is real close to 001. It could be that one or a possible new listing? Have to hear from Bob to be sure. He may want to see it?

Coop,

I have it in a Flip now. I have planned to send it to Bob. Thank's for I couldn't find a picture of it on this site to be sure if it was.

Thank's Coop for your help.

David

Or another thought: If the mark is only on the top of the MM it could be a die crack. Will probably take having the coin in hand to tell for sure. Images sometimes fall short of details or in fact add details that are not there. Just depends on the coin/lighting/photographer/angle of the shot and a vivid imagination that can make or break a variety. In hand helps.
