The more I read on these the more questions I get. Seems like a great subject for the experts to explain someday Wink

In Wexlers old book he listed modified hub MH-2-0-VII and listed it as 1970 (P-D-S).
So he thought they were modified hubs from all 3 mints which makes it seem like it was done at a higher level.

The CPG says about the 1958/7 coins that "the modified hub was used to make a new master die, the remnants can be seen on all working dies for 1958" I think I've heard that those are not a valid variety for that reason but I guess my confusion is the die making process because if those 1970-d ones were all made on the master die I don't see how there can be so many different types then how could there be one type like Wexler listed at 3 mints?

I found a 70-P but can't tell which, maybe 1DO-002 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6. So many similar ones makes me wonder what was going on and why the P ones are not class 7 but D ones are?

(added later: I was up too late! the varieties I was looking at are D mints but this is a very similar unlisted P mint, I will post it in new finds)
