Thanks David! They are difficult to find even in the area where they were let loose! But the hard work that I put in searching pennies year round is worth it when one of my finds makes Coin World.

I think Murphy should be known as the King of 2006 DDOs!!!
Finding the first 6 types and more was one big deal!!!
Then for you to top it at the end with that bigger one was proof that finding them is not just luck it's like a fishing contest and everything you knew to do made it possible.

I personally think it's Master Die Doubling. As you all know...there is no way this can happen, and the mint NEVER makes mistakes. How can we possibly argue with that???
In all seriousness though, this coin looks much better in hand than the pictures we took. It is my opinion that this is the strongest doubled die since the 1995 cent. Others don't agree with that, but personally, I don't care what they think. This coins is a beauty.

Thanks for your kind words. I don't consider myself luckier than anyone else. It's just that I have a routine that I follow every week and it seems to work for me in "catching" those new varieties. I wish I could have snagged a box of these before they were dispersed into circulation. But I did catch some when they went through local banks in circulated rolls.
I think BJ Neff is just as fortunate as I because we both have been hunting for a 2006P-1DO-018 DBL EAR Lincoln and he succeeded where I have not, at least not yet.
When I found the 2006P-1DO-001 there were people emailing me to say they had found a "ton" of them, but so far nobody that I know of has a ton of them. All you see on eBay are a few people selling both singles & rolls of minor variety 2006P DDO's. Occasionally I'll find an 001 or 003 in rolls. I am beginning to get reports of people having found a few of these 017 cents. One guy don't know what variety he has but says he found almost a roll of them. I am still trying to figure out what he's got. He hasn't emailed me back, but chances are they will turn out to be minor DDO's. It seems that when you make a good find there will be people come out of the woodwork with DDO's that they want to be just like yours. Whether or not they are like yours is the problem - they generally aren't, especially when so many different doubled die varieties are discovered for one year, like in 2006!

Murph, add my congrats, to all the others. I haven't gotten my CW yet, but like everything else, it takes a while for the west to catch up with the world!
