can ejection doubling occur at a pivot point. Ive got a lincoln here that has what i believe to be ejection doubling or some sort of MD but its tapered. The doubling is nil at the base of the letters but very visible at the top of the letters. Similar to Class 5 doubling. It doesnt look like its smashed metal off of the primary devices, but my eyes arent the best. I dont want to get anybodys hopes up so im gonna wait until i have my camera working, hopefully tomorrow!! _________________ Aaron
Aaron, Ejection doubling is unique in just about every case. There is no 'pivot point' per se. Ejection fingers prettty much throw the coin out of the collar. This happens so fast that at times the ejection fingers, or the coin itself can hit something on the way out. Certain portions of the coin may show evidence while others may not. Even regular strike doubling can affect what seems like a part of a letter versus the whole letter. _________________ Bob Piazza
