MDS
http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1972&die_id=1972p1do003&die_state=mds

Note the doubling on the letters in IN GOD are rotated on the left side of the letters.
LIBERTY note the L.

http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1972&die_id=1972p1do003&die_state=lds

Note die scratches through IN GOD. They are softer/fading on the LDS examples. There are several other markers that show up in the LDS die state that aren't there on the MDS examples.

ADDED:
Stage 7 (The higher the stage number the more wear/later the die) is I would consider a VLDS example. A lot of scratches/wear/loss of detail/ just not a highly desirable coin. Go for an EDS or MDS or enven LDS before the State 7.

I would say that is very high. I would watch for another one in the less than half that range in a better die state. There are a lot of that die out there. Seems like it is the more common one for the year except for the master die doubled from all three mints.

Did you see the JAckie Gleason movie with Brad Garrett. (From everyone loves Ramond- Robbie) Here did the best job on Jackies roll I can imagine. Gave me a whole different outlook on his acting career. (Brad Garrett)

I don't see the post yet. The time says on my screen 1:30 and it is 10:30 here. Not sure where the correct time zone? Probably the East Coast?

The server is in Michigan. The program is messed up, and I cannot fix it. Probably about time to start the forum all over again. It's messed up in many ways.

As to the 1946D/D in MS66 for $32 - that's a buy for a slabbed 1946D in 66. The RPM just adds to things. However, finding a raw one, although it may take some more time, would be far less.

I never saw the initial price for the 1972 die #3, so I cannot comment on that.

Chuck,

You are back... I sent you a few emails but am positive that you have a good many to go through since you were at the show. How was the show? Find anything good? Tell us all about the Charlotte experience. The 1972 was $70 and will probably take a pass.

The website time is usually determined by the servers internal clock, I know this because my job title is Sr. Systems Administrator...lots of hours and no glory. But the pay isn't that bad Very Happy Oh yeah and I forgot you are a programmer so you have a good handle on that as well.
