Hello everyone. I re-discovered this site a few weeks ago and just joined the forum which I'm very excited about. Everyone seems very down to earth, friendly and truly interested in the hobby. I'm looking forward to learning a lot and sharing from time to time. I started collecting coins in 1969, just blue whitmans. Started over 4 or 5 times over the course of the years until 1997 when I discovered 2 things that changed my view of collecting. 1. books ( I actually started reading and learning about the hobby.) 2. Varieties (I absolutely love it.)
I spent the first 2-3 years trying to learn it, looking at what seemed like a million coins and buying/reading every book I could get a hold of. I guess I'm kind of slow because it took me a long time. I stopped for a couple of years and picked up with it again in Jan. Well, anyway sorry for the rambling post and I'm looking forward to being a part of the forum and making new friends.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes. I have been away from the hobby way too long and this is a great way to return. Apparently a lot has happen over the past 2-3 years, like doubled dies coming from the single hubs which I never thought would happen. I have a lot of catching up to do. learning how the new doubling occurs and rebuilding my collection from scratch again. Family Medical bills needed to be paid and my variety collection went to the cause. But I'm excited. I started the 1st part of Jan and am on my 3 box of circ rolls and I'm on number 98. Of course there are repeats and lots of minor stuff but its great to find them again. Looking for the elusive 2006 #17. Again thanks to all.

Rock, I notice I'm not the only one who dates my boxes of circs. I have for some time, been picking up a box every time I take the wife to the bank , for the household expenses. They don't get 'em back, either!
I recently received 10 rolls of '07's, and when they arrived, my desk was laid out with 7 rolls of circs, and the '07's had to wait. Then my daughter brought me almost half a roll of '07's! They're next! Then comes the rolls! Boy-oh-boy, is this going to be fun! "Wish you were here"!

I like to stay organized too Dick. Since we live in an apartment, space is limited. I work on a large cutting board which can be moved around out of the way. Everything else is on a bookcase. I keep my finds in flips with notes on the other side. I personally like looking thru circ rolls opposed to obw solid date rolls. I do have 2 boxes of 07's that I'm waiting to start going thru. Even after I finish going thru them, I'll keep them for a year or so just to see if someone else finds something interesting that I might not have picked up on. Then I'll go thru them all again. Good luck.

Hi Dick,
I notice you are in Rialto, Ca. That's where my wife and I are from. We moved to Kentucky then nashville in 97'. Small world.
My wife graduated from Ike.

Rock, 'tis a small world, indeed! My daughter graduated from IKE in '81. I have lived here before. Also in SBDO, Fontana, and Rialto. Currently in North Rialto, north of Highland, (which will now become SR 30, and 211, tying 215, 15, 210, 30 together, in SBDO).
David, I DO have some wheats to look thru, but like a GOOD meal, the dessert always comes last, (of course, it might get "tasted")! "Love my Wheaties"!
Dick
