MidAmerica Coin Expo June 22-25, 2006

The great Mid America Coin Expo starts at the end of the week. The only coin show in Chicago that lasts 4 days! I hope to be there Friday and/ or Saturday.

Should add the entrace fee is usually $5 but allows you to come back each day. No place to park except in the Rosemont Parking lot at $11 last year and that is per day. Very expensive food and not worth eating. Train station lot a few blocks North of there and a lot cheaper. Thursday is usually for extra money though. Sunday most dealers leave early or not there at all. Dealers tables are expensive so the prices of coins are also expensive. However, I go every year but mostly due to the fact I can walk there from where I live.

Carl, Maybe it's because the dates are screwed up on your computer, but the above post was made in June of last year. Do you know when this years show is??

Not sure yet. They usually send me a post card with all the info on it about a month or so in advance but so far nothing yet. Usually about the same time every year though. Post card used to get me a discount on entry but not last year. Cheapskates. Only postcard about shows lately is the Chicago International Coin Fair, Thursday to Sunday, April 26 to 29, 2007 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare hotel at 5440 River Road, Rosemont. It's right across the street from the place where the show you are refering to is held.
I hate that show because they frown on US coins but go because it's so close.

OH yeah you noted it is the only 4 day show here. Not true. The one I mentioned is 4 days but since it is full of foreign coins primarily we could dismiss this one I guess.
