Dick, the quarters have been in there since 1999... The quarters in the Dansco 1999 thru Tennessee in 2001 are starting to get dull and a coppery gold tint. In the Littleton, its 1999 thru Alabama 2003 that are starting to dull and turn coppery gold.

GaryN, I'll have to keep an eye on mine, then, because mine haven't been in the holders for a year, yet. I had the coins in flips, and then bought the folders. I have more of the same folders for the half dollars, and also the SBA', SAC's, and silver eagles. All of the cent albums are Whitman's. I can't tell from the odor, if the flips are the good, or bad. They don't have the smell that has been mentioned. More like odorless, and stiff. I'll kee my fingers crossed, and keep an eye on them.

I've been using Whitman Classic Albums for as long as they have been being made. I used to use the Whitman Albums prior to those that were similar but not removable or changable pages. Now I have about 50 of the newer types. I like them since you can still add pages to almost all of them. I have about 10 pages in each Lincoln Cent Album now. Additional pages are always available for all albums. Whitman sells pages of Gold leaf lettering and numbering press ons for any pages bought without such info on them. Also there used to be available blank Binders where you could invent your own Album. I did that with Lincoln Cent Proofs. I have been able to put 2 sets of Mercury Dimes in each Album. The main thing I do is place each album in a zip lock plastic type bag when being stored. Makes a bit of a irritation when when changing a a coin though. If I get a new Lincoln Cent and it is good enough for set #1 then the one in that set goes to #2, and then to #3, etc for my 10 complete sets. So far in well over 60 years of collecting, no problems with coins toning, corroding, etc. either.

Gary, and just Carl, I use the "press in" Whitman folders. They arre the only ones I ever saw, until many years later when I got back to collecting again, there werw others. I have the Dansco, and Harris. I bought a set of Silver Eagles, and the golder came with them. It has the sliding strips, and is handy. You don't have to put fingerprints, and oil all over them, to get them in place! Where do you get the "Classic"?
