Rock,

That indeed was a great find! I do browse and buy occasionally, I try not to get caught up in the "Hype" that in 2009 there changing the design. That's a seller's best friend right now.

I was very fortunate to work with a guy who had 3 brother's collected wheat's since they were children. He is 62 now. I guess he needed the money and made me a offer to buy close to 600 roll's dating from 1910 to 1958. He wouldn't sell his 1909 roll's. He said he would take .65 cent's a roll. It took me a few month's (Cool to get the entire collection paying for a few here and there, now I have them.

Dick - LOL Couldn't help but reply when I read that you're waiting for some old lady who's been tossing her change in a bucket for years. Hmm.. guess you're looking for me then, huh? Or, maybe not. I've just been tossing pennies in boxes for almost 27 yrs. But, they're still considered change, aren't they? Hey!! Wait a minute. I'm not old. Forget it.

Hi Mary! I can dream, can't I? In the mobile home Park where I live, there are 145 units, and the minimum age is 55, so maybe I'll have better luck here, Right? Maybe that would not be such a good idea. The social attitude of the ones I've seen, seems to be "keep your distance"! Six years here, and I have met, and talked to maybe 6 people!
I found out it isn't that much to send a box of cents from one place to another. My Kid sister sent me 60 rolls for $12.41, S&H. That is a box, plus 10 rolls. I wonder if I can find someone that wouls like to trade boxes, (mine are all sealed when I get them from the bank)? That would be one way to get a "majority of "P" MM's, for a majority of "D" MM'? it would be even cheaper, because she sent 60 rolls. The box has 50, so cheaper. I am referring to circulated cents, obviously, unless there happened to be some solid rolls in one of them. I have never found one, so far.

Dick,

Check your post office. You can send a box of 100 roll's "Priority Mail" for 8.10. I didn't have the time to go to the Post Office when I sent you the 2007's. I hope this help's.

David

To get that good price you need to use the flat rate box.
I never did it but you might even fit 2 boxes in one of them.

David, that is the way to go! Now all we have to do is get a "flow of "P"'s, and "D"'s going cross-country", and maybe we can fill an album, without having to pay thru the nose! the nice thing is when one is done, the ones pulled, can be replaced with "D"'s, and some one else will find a box of a lot more "P"'s than usual! The boxes are sealed, so you get the same option as when opening a box of chocolates....You never know what you're going to get! Any takers?
The nice thing is you don't have to buy so often, to get two boxes to work thru. Just make sure you have PLENTY of shipping tape! This could get intresting!

I'll be happy to trade with you, Dick. Haven't been able to find any '07's yet, but did get a box of leftover '06's from the bank on Friday.

Mary, Hi, are the "leftovers", all '06's, or circs? I can't get a box of solid date, be it '06, or '07! The best I have been able to get is the recycled. The few rolls of 2007-P, that I have were sent by David. My Bank does not have them, nor do they have the 2006-D!. I don't have the 2007-D. Talk about sitting on a little island in the middle of the ocean! I can get all the "re-runs" I want. Any ideas?

Yep, Dick. The box is ALL '06's. I opened and checked the rolls. I haven't had a chance to look through them yet because.. well, you know. Cause the kids are here and I can't take them out till the kids are in bed. I'm thinking of going back to see if they have anymore. I only picked up one box because it was a spur of the moment thing to stop in and I was low on cash at the time. I still have almost a full box to go through that I picked up back in Sept., so it's looking like maybe December by the time I get to it. LOL

As to why you're not getting any boxes of new coins.. hmm.. maybe you should move out of that retirement community. I mean, if the great metropolis of Albany, NY can get them, how come you can't?

Mary, I think the reason the bank doesn't have them, is because they DON'T order them! Don't ask me why, but that seems to be the case. Other banks must order them, because I've seen them show up in change from shopping. I have several boxes of circulated cents, and Just got 60 rolls from my kid sister. Not to mention the many boxes of wheats, (all circulated, and no doubt searched completely), but little by little, I am going thru them, and putting them into rolls, by date.. They all came before I "came to Coppercoins forum! Because of that, they will all have to be checked, once again! I don't have any "D"'s to trade, but would be interested in buying some rolls, minimum 20.
My "little community", is actually a Mobile Home Park, (145 units), in Southern CA, and people have "sprouted" up all the way from the ocean to the mountains, and beyond!

I may have got lucky Sunday!
A guy from one of the groups I belong to,
said his Grandmother gave him an old water jug,
full of wheat cents, that he was selling for $2.50 per roll, including S&H.
So I bought 8 rolls.
I asked him what my chances were of finding some DDs,
RPMs, OMMs, etc...
and he just said his Grandmother knew nothing about
DDs, etc. So, at this point, all I can say is,
time will tell.
