Well I got the 400 wheaties I bought Sunday!
Mostly teens, twenties, and fifties,
and allot of MMs.
Ended up with two 1909 cents,
but not S or VDB Sad
Guess I'll have to go to S-Mart Idea LOL

Well the search begins! Very Happy

Thanks Gary!
About the only good rolls we get in this neck of the woods,
are the ones including older coins, or varieties.
I'm sure you, like me, get mostly Denver coinage.
Good for older RPMs, but not for errors.
Denver runs a TIGHT ship! Sad

I may be able to talk my Sister in Michigan into sending me some Ps. I hadn't thought about that! DUH! Rolling Eyes LOL

Well I've been through the teens, and twenties, and now I'm starting on the thirties. I have a few, I need to take a closer look at, but I'm going to wait until I finish all of them. Then I want feel rushed, and can take my time.

I was looking at some old posts from last December,
concerning cleaning the crud out of the creases.
It's next to imposable to look for RPMs,
with all the gunk around the dates/MMs.
Did anyone ever come up with a solution?
I was hoping for a happy ending,
but the subject got changed towards the end.
I'm going to try boiling with baking powder tonight,
but hopefully someone will have the ultimate solution.

Embarassed LOL

Well, I just finished boiling the coins in baking soda,
and it worked like a charm!
The water turned green, and so did my wife's soup pan Laughing
BOY AM I IN TROUBLE Shocked

Out of the first 10, I may have found a nice 37 DO!
I'm ready to boil more now!!
(now that I have my very own pot to boil them in) Laughing

Bankrolls, would you describe how you went thru the "boiling" procedure? I did the same, (I think) procedure, and my coins turned black. I think the "porcelean pot" was not so "porcelean"! Thanks,
Dick

Sure Dick,

I used a stainless steal pot,
filled it w/ water,
put the coins in face down,
set them on high,
brought them to a rolling boil.

Then put in the baking powder,
stirred with a wooden spoon,
and left alone for about 5 minutes.

Then I put in another half spoon full of baking powder,
stirred with a wooden spoon,
and let boil for another 3-4 minutes,
stirring about every minute.

I then pored them into a siv,
and onto an old towel.
(the towel is now MINE as well Laughing )

Dabbed them dry,
and began my search!!!

Last time I washed some old wheats I finished up and washed my hands with soap but my hands still smelled like the old wheaties. Had to wash my hands several times before the wheatie smell was reduced. Wink
