How does one change the extension on a photo from *.max, to .jpg? I tried to upload to the bucket, but it won't accept it. Sure wish I knew more about all this stuff!

Dick,
Do you have a photoshop program. I can't remmember if you did.
If you do open the photo in the program and click on file them click on save as. There should be a drop down there to give you some options to change.
Or send it to me and I'll see if I can change it.
Steven

Steven, Yes I have the PHotoshop 7.0., and have tried to use it, witout much results, so far. I used XP's "Window, and fax viewer, and was able to put lines on one. Today I used the Paperport Scansoft documents, and was able to place arrows where I wanted, but it won't upload to bucket. It's extension is .max, and i need .jpg, or other compatible. My biggest problem is that I know little about everything, but very little about ANYTHING! Just enough to get into trouble! Like I told Coop, I can build these computers and make them capable of doing what you want, but I don't know much about operating it's programs. I would like to go full time to school to learn how to work with them, and learn photography, too, but some things are out of reach!

Dick,
When you make a change to a photo by adding additional information such as arrows the photo will not save as a JPG unless you specifically save it as one. Open the photo up again with photoshop, go to layer on the top line, drop down and click on merge visible. Then click on file and click on save as. this will drop down and give you the options to save as the type of file you want.

That's correct, if you are adding arrows, lines, etc., you must "flatten the layers" and then you can "save as" a .jpg file or other type files if you want.

Steven, I have what I want to work with, now. How do I put lines, or arrows ti point out items?
Dennis. I remember seeing the "flatten layer", but not this time. I had hit "merge layer", and saved aas, when I saw your post.
Sure would be nice if we both were on AOL, that way we could IM, and it would be very easy to "ask, and tell".
I recalled seing the "chat room, and checked to see what it is all about. maybe it would work for fast response type help.
