Hello everyone,
It's been a bit quiet around the forum lately except for a few posts about eyes and noses, cracks and gouges. Any decent finds? More than that, any new finds? Especially for 2007?
As for me, this May has a Graduation, Birthday, school functions, church functions, Mother's Day, etc.... a busy month so not much searching happening in my house right now. How about the rest of the gang?

No finds at all on this end. I did notice something common on the 2007-D Cents. Under the 3rd column the steps have a distortion that I've noticed on most that I have seen yet. It is minor. Most I seem have this. A few different states. Mostly MDS or VLDS. Seems like they are one or the other that I have seen so far. Only found one roll of OBW Cents so far here. Nothing interesting to report though.

I haven't seen any 2007-D's yet, but if and when I do I'll look for something in that area. I'm thinking about heading up to the Kentucky-Indiana line soon to visit my folks and picking up some rolls while I'm in the area. Hoping to find one of those 017's. I'm getting anxious to get back to the search again.

1960D 1MM-115 small date
Now, for anyone who thinks I am a lucky B here is the way my last 30 days have gone. In April I was laid off from my job. Two weeks ago my 39 year old baby brother called me to let me know he was diagnosed with leaukemia. He is the father of 5 kids from ages 3-17. Being laid off was fortunate because I have had a lot of time to spend with my brother and to help out his wife. On the plus side he has the most curable form of leaukemia. I was not able to visit him this week because my family came down with head colds and we can't risk making him sick so I decided to kill some time on my pile of pennies.
I consider this a sign that my luck is starting to turn around !

I'm not much on luck, good or bad and I will refrain from quoting any cliches. I will, however, pray for your brother, his family and you. By the way, very nice list of varieties found. I hope your family gets well soon, that you find yourself gainfully employed before the bills get out of hand, and that your brother has a swift and complete recovery.

Rollmeupabe, I agree 1000% wth Rock! I hate that one has to put up with the risk of being "layed-off", because it upsets the general well being. I hope it is of short duration, and that your Brother has the Medical attention he needs.
That is a very imposing list of "finds"! I'll bet it took you as long to ID the 1960D, as all the rest, put together! I have a roll of them, and I am not beyond the separation of the different classes, IE, "tilted", "directional", etc. I have several piles, and find it easier to use a camera, to put a view on a TV screen, draw an outline of the date, and then locate the MM. After they all have been classified, then thru selective screening of the site, maybe I'll finally get them ID'ed! Stay well, and we are all praying for your brother. Now get back to work!

Dick,
You are absolutely correct about the 1960D. There are so many it takes forever to figure out which one you have. I have several 1960 and 1961 rpm's that I just give up on trying to identify. I got lucky on the one I was able to identify due to some markers. Spending my night trying to find a variety in a pile of memorial cents I picked up from my aunt today. They belonged to my uncle. When she found out I had an interest in pennies she offered for me to come pick them up so she would not have to lug them to the bank. 64 pounds!!

Rollmeupabe, I find that it is easier if I use an artists square, (plastic, 14X5". They come with several angles in place) By co-incidence the top lrft hand corner has a 60 degree, and 45 degree lines in place. The top of the "1", (60 degrees) corresponds to the to the tip of the tail of the "9". The top of the "1", (45 degrees), matches the left side od the curl of the "9", crosses the tail, and bisects the "D", in the 1" square"..(this assumes that the MM is in the correct spot), based on the photo shown for a DDO, and making note of the size of the DATE in the photo, this will indicate the correct placement of the MM). Match the size with the zoom, and if you are in the pball-park, the MM will be centered in the 1" square, the tilt, notwithstanding. I have located several tilts, with the directional displacement. That is NOT to say it is exact, but if there are no markers, then a "guesstimate", based on the triangulation will have to suffice, if you don't have over-lay capability!. It is crude, but beats having to go thru 150+ photos, for every coin checked!. This is based on the position indicated by 1960D-1MM-009. LATER:
I find that the 1960D-1MM-086, is almost a dead ringer.
