As many here may know already, BobP and I have been working diligently to start 2004 off to a big bang with adding information to the site. We have included photo sets for well over 40 new die states of dies since the first of the month, and we are stil going strong.
One place where most references are lacking information is in the minor RPM category - seems that either publication costs, lack of value, or a lack of general interest in publishing information on the minor die varieties has kept them out of the books. Many collectors who purchased the 1997 CONECA book on Lincoln cent RPMs know that there are a number of RPMs they are finding that are not published in any of the books, and we are working on publishing all this information. Time is of paramount importance here, we are working hard on trying to reveal all this info to the general public, but taking photos, editing them, and adding them to the server does take time.
Anyhow, on to the purpose of this post. Bob and I are currently working on getting all the information we have on the more minor RPMs out there on the site so people can go back through their rolls of "minors" and re-check them against the new information. If anyone here does that and finds that they have something that is still not listed, please let me know how I can reach you to get your coin for examination, photography, and inclusion on the site. we are going to work on this on a year-by-year basis, and I will post here when I am ready for people to study the given years and report whether they have dies that are still not in the system. The month of February will be 1957-1958 month - ANY minor RPMs that you might have in your rolls that you can report to me from these two years will be very important to the overall development of the site.
As I have always said, this effort is a community effort - it's not MY site, it's yours. You use it, you help add information to it to make it what it is. Help me out in helping you by taking a look and going through your 1957D and 1958D minor RPMs and let me know what you find. We will change to a different set of years later, so hold onto all those for now.
As always, thanks for being around here, and thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
- Chuck

I have a roll of 1958-D minor RPMs which I will look over today to see if any of the new listings match any of my RPMs. If I find a RPM which is not listed in the site for 1958-D, I will try to contact you both and get your opinion.

OK Mr Chuck, I have found 4 different dies in the old roll of minors for 1958-D. The varieties re actually not that bad to be considered minor, and all have very distinguishable die markers; one even has huge clash marks on the reverse. Let me know what the next step would be to get these coins processed thru the "system". lol!
Anyways let me know in time when the 1960-D and the 1961-D RPM month will be, because it will take me some time to pull out all the "junk" I have for that date.

I need to interject something here before we get going full tilt on this. The way things need to proceed is that Mr. Chuck will need to find, photograph, and include all his RPMs for any specific year. Once he has done so, then I need to do the same thing with the hundreds or so that I still have sitting here. As we go along, any variety that we have not previously attributed will be added to the site and a number assigned. The reason for this is that we get as much info on the site before you guys send yours in for inclusion, and spend money for postage and packaging for very minor items.
Something else to consider is that there may be some numbers that we just dont have, and therefore have been unable to photograph. If you hadn't noticed....normally the first group of numbers in each date group coincides with the CONECA numbers (IE 1958D-1mm-001 is also CONECA's RPM #001). The big difference on this site is the numbers added after all known CONECA numbers.
In my view, if you fine folks see a hole where we have not been able to take pictures or put info onto the site, and you have that coin....I would certainly like to fill it and give you credit for sending the coin to photograph.
Still keep checking your coins as the site updates continue, and have them ready to send. When Chuck and I have done all we can do with a year group, we will take your coins then. He will make up the procedures for doing so, and to whom you can send your coins.

All of what Bob said there is true - I jumped the gun a bit. We do need to ensure we have everything together and complete before we have other people looking for stuff to send in. We'll get together on it, get our stuff done, then I'll announce again. Sorry for the confusion.
