Here's one I love to show off, I can just imagine the mint employee running around yelling," Where the hell did I put my rag down". I found the after effect............

Wow, that's super!
For others reading the post, the pic loads really slowly - be patient with it, and if it times out, just hit reload...it's there.

That strike through is so cool! I can certainly understand why it's one of your favorites. I have many strike throughs, but I have nothing that even compares to that one. I give it a 2 thumbs up! (ok...ok...ok.... three thumbs up!)

Bob's so excited he can't even count his thumbs! Really, it's a super coin - I think it's great!
Anyone think I should make a forum for error coins? I personally don't collect them so I didn't think of it right off. Do you think that would get much usage or do we have enough different forums now as it is?

I agree, the error portion of the forum is nice, but we need to remember that the primary reason for this site and forum is varieties. I am sure most people have an error or two...including you Mr. Chuck. Show us the good ones if you can.

I need to make a correction to my previous statement. I said that the primary purpose of this site and forum is varieties, and that is not totally correct. Coppercoins.com indeed is geared to the varieties, however, this forum is for everyone, and Chuck has opened it up to many other areas of collecting, not just varieties. I apologize for any misunderstandings this may have caused. I look forward to reading all of your questions and comments, and answering most of them without inserting my foot any further into my mouth.

True, this site is for ALL collectors who don't mind the fact that it's a copper site. It was and is intended for all collectors of U.S. copper coins to get together. The reason why most of the site at this time is geared toward die varieties is because that's my area of interest and just about the only area I really know. As time permits and as time rolls on, this site will become much more useful to ALL copper coin collectors - errors included.
Which reminds me of something - if at some point you post a message asking about an error, I will more than likely have to digress to the knowledge of the other people around ere for a good answer - I have never been interested in nor collected errors, so I know very little about them. This is a good reason why I believe it is very important to educate about the difference between varieties, die varieties, and errors...there are a lot of people who collect one or more of these, but there are many fewer who collect all of them. We all have our areas of interest and our agendas, and my personal area is Lincoln cent die varieties - but I DO plan to get people involved who have expertice in ALL areas of copper so this site will be as well rounded as possible.

Very nice coin(s) Rich. I do believe that's the first 26 cent piece I have seen. I have held a few 11 cent pieces before, and the nicest one I had ever seen before yours was a 30 cent (quarter over nickel) piece. Nice picture also!

I was looking at Ebay last night and there are two of the
1956-"D and S" coins out there in the Error section. One is ANACS MS64 without a photo and the other is a raw coin with a life size photo of the coin, no detail at all, very frustrating.
