I'd like to shout a thank you to Robert Neff at the CONECA table at the West Palm Beach FUN show for helping me avoid a bad buy.
The story.....I spied a coin labeled 1970S Proof Small Date. Looked good and the dealer was willing to give me a great price but he was as unsure of the attribution as I was. I could not remember without research materials the method to determine a small date. I asked the dealer if he was willing to let someone at the show take a look at it before I purchased and he agreed. We took the coin to Robert who declared it a Large Date. I probably would have purchased it and been dissapointed when I got home without his help. Thanks Robert! Pleasure to meet you.

Just a side note on this show, it was excellent and we did get to view many coins. Unfortenately, some had been altered. Particularly sad were a 1937-D, 3 legged Buffalo nickel that had been abraided out side the mint; a 1909-S, VDB that I was positive the S had been glued on and a 1922 Lincoln cent "plain" that had been HEAVILY altered. Just a word of caution, be very wary of what you buy.
