Of course was checking for the coveted 83 DDR, but alas no luck. However, got a kick out of this one. Looks like 4 corners of the memorial building are tethered to the rim of the coin by separate and amazingly placed die breaks. Cute!

Die cracks from the corners of the memorial to the rim are very common in the early 80's. However, to find a coin where all four corners are connected is rather unique. I would have loved to see a big piece of the die breaking off and leaving an incredible cud. Pretty interesting find for a common occurance.

I guess the mint had to find some way to hold it down to keep from having those DDRs from happening.
