Do any of you guys have one of the 1943 S copper cents? Heres a site that has a great write up about it. Maybe you have seen it already but I found it very interesting. Shane Very Happy

It's on my wish list but not in my budget unless I find one and my luck is good but not that good Wink

I still laugh at the story about the guy that had one (I think it was a 43 plain on a copper planchet) but he kept it in a soap dish thinking no burglar would notice it. One day his wife was gathering change and she found it and spent it. I never believed the story but it's still a good one.

Here's it's cousin, a 1943 on a silver dime planchet but still not in the budget.

I've got several of those. Of course mine are all attracted by a magnet. Used to be the thing to go around showing them to people so I bought a few.

Information release by the mint officials say that only 45 copper 43 cents made it out of the facilities but who knows how accurate there estimation is.
