Not sure where to post this question so I'll try here. At a local flea market there is a so called coin dealer. He just throws all coins in bins and they are only sorted by US or Foreign. They are not slabbed, in plastic holders, 2x2's or nothing. Just dumped in there. Today I picked up about 8 Mercury Dimes, 2 Roosevelt Dimes, 1 Lincoln Cent 43. Then I noticed a few really shinny cents in the mess. So I picked them also. Appeared as if excessively cleaned and polished or Proofs just being in circulation.

Not sure how these photos come out. Usually never take a photo of a coin. If I have the coins, I never could see taking photos of them.
Please let me know if you think these are circulated Proofs or just well cleaned coins. Not that they are now worth anything even if Proofs due to the scratches, dinks, etc.

Oh forgot to mention the important thing. The cost. The total of all coins was $10. One Mercury Dime was 38D in about MS-63 with almost complete FSB's. The 43 Lincoln was also about MS grade. This nut just throws all coins in a bin and I mean throws them. He didn't charge anything for the Proof looking cents since I said they were harshly cleaned or something.

The edges appear rounded which to me would indicate a business strike.

Is he really a nut, or did he convince you to pay $10 for about $4.14 in bullion value?

Just viewing the dates and mints, it looks like it may have been from a BU roll of 37-39 plain Cents. He probably has the rest or the rest of that roll waiting to be sold. Check the ear to see if it is full, cause they may just be BU coins. A few DDO's DDR's In that area. Buy the rest he as of them. That would be my game plan, unless they look cleaned closely looking. I see the beard line looks very good. Just my plan of action that I would do if presented with the same situation.

The coins are cleaned, and from reading the posts it would seem all of his coins are probably cleaned or bad in some way. The guy is probably more a crook than a nut.

No actually although his main items are coins he knows very little about them or just doesn't care about them as a collectors item. All the Mercury Dimes were not cleaned at all. Amonst them was a 16S in F-12, 18S in F-12, 35 & 44 in AU-50, and as noted about the 38D actually had FSB's. The 42S in EF-40 had the top of the 2 missing. And a few others. There were also 2 Roosevelt Dimes in about Ef-40 in the early 60's.
A few weeks ago I got a 42D/41 Mercury Dime for about $0.95 since I purchased other coins. All coins are dumped into a few bins with no concern as to what they are except all foreign coins are in one bin and US coins in two other bins. All are raw, no 2x2's, plastic holders, etc. Once a few moths ago I purchased a roll of Indian Cents from him for $2.00 LIke I said he basically just doesn't care.

Bullion Value, HUH???? The 1916S Mercury Dime and the 18S were alone worth more than Bullion Value. HUH? The 38D in MS-63 with FSB's would not exactly be considered bullion.

Well if you got a few nice mercs it was worth it.

Picking out the good stuff from sellers boxes is part of the game of cherrypicking. Sometimes you get a gem among the rest.
