Note the odd top of the last T in TRUST. Unusual separation at the top of letter. To me, I assumed the separation was simple strike damage with pushed up metal. But I was a bit thrown off why other letters in TRUST did not have similar affect.
Also an example of a die crack extending top rim down to Lincoln's ear on the same coin.

It looks like some sort of strike damage because of the corresponding chunks missing out of the horizontal crossbar of the T. Another possibility is damage to the die itself where the top of the T was hit with something. Still...it is very interesting.

I've seen that on many cents from the 90's. I used to pull them out and save them for my error collection but when I started to notice so many, I now just throw them back in circulation. Then not long ago at a local coin show I say an error dealer with those same types in 2x2's and it noted GHOST type shadows over lettering on reverse. Each one was $1. Probably the same ones I threw back.

The strike may have stretched the copper plating and the air has raised that area above the T. I've seen that happen a lot on the Mintmark usually the part closest to the rim in a SE direction. Raises, lowers and later fall off. Yest the hold mint mark falls off.
