I purchased a lot of 49 Proof 1962-64 cents about four months ago, and this site almost immediately listed a recently discovered Proof 1962 DDO, so I looked through mine and found two...thank you very much!!! On EBAY there is now a very nice uncirculated 1962 DDO, and the seller seems to have done the legwork researching this cent. One of us deserves this unslabbed gem....

...as with all other coins I mention on EBAY, I have no financial interest in the coin...I just want us to have our shot at it as buyers. If I list, it will be seen on this site FIRST.

That coin on ebay is a nice one.

There are several similar bus strike 1962 DDOs and DDRs. I have one that I know is WDDO-1 and another that I think is Coneca die-2. Both are similar to the one in your link. The tough thing on many of these lesser DDOs is it's harder to attribute which they are and which listings cross (are the same) as other peoples listings. I'm not sure if either of mine match ones listed on this site, they might but I couldn't find the same markers.

There's a batch of proof 1962 DDOs and DDRs. One of them looks siimilar to the bus strike you noted on ebay. You can have fun trying to attribute the proofs you got. I think I saw that batch on ebay, if it's the one I'm thinking of I like the seller because they list a lot of interesting reasonably priced stuff and it always is as they described.

Correct term would probably be "gobs and gobs". I know for sure I have at least 200 pcs. of 1962 DDOs and DDRs. Haven't ever taken the time to sort them out completely.

Mr Daughtry thanks for helping me keep my money. I thought that just because it was recently discovered by THEM that it was scarce. This board is the rarity acid test, I now know! BTW, I put a comment in the Presidential dollar thread last week about the Shop at Home hawksters noticing greater quality in the Presidential proofs coming out of the silver proof sets, and so they lowered their pf 70 prices. And Numismatic news reported a 67,000 set increase last week. Is it possible that many folks are here? Whadda ya think?
