i'm getting into the old proofs... the pre-50 ones. curious about the '36's...................

i've read about a 1936 brilliant proof type 1, 1936 brilliant proofs type 2, and the satin versions... or vice versa.. however it goes.

what's the difference between t1 & t2's?

is the brilliant/satin difference obvious? i have no experience with these...

ps.. i need 36, 37, 40, 41, 50, and 52 in case anyone wants to sell something Very Happy

Yeah, brilliant proofs look shiny like the proofs from the 50s and 60s...or more accurately, they look just like the proofs from 1937-1942.

Satin proofs look much more like business strike coins, only with squared rims and very sharp devices.

If im correct i believe that type 1 is brilliant and the type 2 is satin. Also i believe they made sets that had brilliant cents and a satin nickel which was a billiant type 2 set. Just think proof sets of a penny and a nickel sold for 16 cents from then mint in 1936

This might help to get the sense of what things cost in 1936.

When you hear of type 1 mentioned, it is the satin. When you hear of type 2 mentioned, it is the brilliant. As far as I know, there are no "types" beyond that.
