Okay...here's the scoop.
You will notice that the forum is void of messages from the past couple of months and that the content in Talk Cents is quite old. You will also notice that a lot of the dies added to the site recently are gone now too. Here's what happened...

Early yesterday morning I found that the site was down. I called the administrator. He told me that he would ivestigate, which he did. We found out that the company that hosts this site had an equipment failure - basically the hard drive that this site was stored on crashed hard. In fact, it is now toast, garbage, and will never work again. You are now utilizing a new hard drive to view this page.

Unfortunately I did not know that the company has no policy for backing up their servers in case of catastrophic failures such as these - so, I hadn't run a backup of the server in a while. What we are now forced to operate on is files and a database that are months old, and have to re-do everything from the past couple of months from scratch. Everything works now, but is a couple of months behind.

What is being done to make sure this never happens again? I have rented an additional hard drive for the server which will automatically run backups of the site daily. If the primary drive crashes ever again (like it did yesterday) the site will be transferred to the secondary drive and a new one installed. A backup recovery will be ran and the site will transfer back over to the primary drive and everything will move on like nothing happened.

I got bit in the butt on this one and that will NOT happen again. If I had known what I didn't know this time, it wouldn't have happened this time. Anyhow, that's behind us, and we can pick up the pieces and move on.

So that's why the whole site was down all day yesterday, and bits and pieces have been up through the night, and just now the whole thing is operational again, albeit somewhat old.

Sorry for the inconvenience I know this will cause a number of people. Believe me, it was very inconvenient on me.

All of the dies I had listed since the time of the last site back-up ( Feb 28, 2004) have been re-listed. We should be close to where we were before the crash.
