Ok guys.. this is my most recent purchase (well, not technically mine yet, but it will be within this week).

Anyone care to guess what this coin grades?

Good guesses, and from looking at the pictures.. I would have probably guessed PF-65 BRN.

But no one yet has guessed the correct grade. Any more guessers?

That means 63 or 67??

I just don't see it as a 63 but 67 are so scarce...

It's hard to grade nice BN cents, somehow the mind doesn't want to say a high grade on BN coins but color isn't grade.

I just don't see anything wrong with it from the pics so could it be a matte PF 67 BN?

No matter the grade it's a cool coin from the same year as the Titanic!

The coin grades Pf-63 Brn, and to tell you the truth... I don't know why it is graded a 63 and not a 65. Anyways, I can't wait to get it this week.

Garry- I bought the coin from a PCGS forum member who has an extensive collection of matte Lincolns. In addition to this matte proof, I'm also buying 2 more. One 1910, and one 1911.. I'll post pictures of those when I receive them.

Hey Gabe,
It is hard not to call this a MPL 65 looking at the pics.
I have seen these getting spanked into lower slabs because of surface issues that are not always visible in digi pics. The plastic companies knock off (IMO) a few points for carbon spotting which I can see here (especially on the reverse).
Great coin no matter what the plastic says and a HIGHLY collectible coin at that.
Great pick-up.

That's sweet! I just don't see how it could be a 63 but it's a sweet coin. Maybe being a 63 made it a bit more affordable. I bet a lot of people would snap that coin up. Great one to start with for matte proofs. Smile
