Once again E-bay protects a scam

Once again, not only did E-bay not pull these auctions, they also censured my post concerning these very obvious, made outside the mint "errors". What did E-bay do; they pulled off my post, where i discussed why these were not true errors and let the auctions go on until they were completed.

What is particularly disturbing is the way the auction ties NGC into it, to try and make the coins appear authentic.

This also happened about 6 to 7 months ago, when a rash of these "ERRORS" showed up on E-bay that were made with soft dies. And more than likely it will persist, since E-bay does not do anything except collect the fees for these scams.

Shame on the seller, shame on E-bay and shame on the supposed watchdog group that is supposed to catch these things.

If someone ever thought those were real the fact that he listed multiple fakes made the same way should make it obviouse. He said the coin was genuine, it was a genuine coin but it was altered.

Buyers for junk like this aren't variety collectors or they would know it was junk, the buyers are mostly wannabe coin flippers thinking they just cornered the market on the next big error. They have $$ in their eyes and if you tell them the coins are fake they'll think you're trying to get it before they do.

It's interesting to watch the items and see the feedback, it will often be good because the buyer that fell for the photo will also fall for the fake item and even if they wise up the ebay FB system would allow the seller to retaliate so the sellers get good feedbacks.

Bottom line, BE CAREFUL don't buy junk!

Just following up on your comment regarding the Ebay feedback process. When I first started to purchase on Ebay I left candid feedback. If someone sold me "unsearched" wheaties from a 105 year old man in Nebraska who just passed away that turned out to be corroded, picked over junk, then I left feedback saying it like it was. I also learned not to be so stupid and naive. Even if a seller was rated a Powerseller and had sold thousands of items.

The seller responses were viscious. After studying comments for awhile I have concluded that a positive rating with a passive comment like "product ok" or "shipped on time" usually leaves some doubt as to whether the seller is selling what they are advertising.

Over time I have gotten my feedback back to 97% but I can't get over what a fake process this is.

It is unbelievable that they let this garbage continue to be sold. It really tears me up to see that EBay won't do the right thing either. It seems that the few dollars they receive from these auctions far outweigh the legality or honesty of the sellers items. What a shame

EBay is a "Buyer Beware" market. Was it P.T.Barnum who said "There's a sucker born every minute"? I believe it! I can't blame the shearer for being tempted to shear sheep. We should be thankful that through the power of knowledge, we have the power to avoid "the shearer".

It irks me to see other people selling junk when I have the real stuff and people complain to me about not being about to see the doubling with the naked eye! Ok...look at my 1969 ICON...I wondr how many of them could see that without the use of a microscope?

I use to buy alot of stamps on e-bay..(Just started with coins) I soon came to the point that I wouldn't buy from any dealer that wasn't a member of a orginization with a very strict code of conduct (IE-American stamp dealers association).. Atleast this way, I had another means of recourse should I find I was sold a bogus Item 3 months after the fact.. Of course this particular org upholds there conduct & offers there members a substantual award for being part of it..

Well i cant imagine paying that much for a beer! Also i do believe that he will be listing it again or selling it to another bidder look at the buyers feedback he collects cheech and chong records and has few auction buys over 40 bucks. He must of had a buzz on aye
Also i do believe that it would sell for about 100 grand if it sells. The research i did varifies that it indeed could be authentic. Also the seller would allow the buyer to have a third party to authenticate it after the sale. Im gunna hold on to the Thomas Hardy Ales that i have from the early 80's seeing that some of the early 60's bottles are going for 10 to 25 thousand a bottle now

Here is a good one, one of the three Micro O VAM dollars that have been identified as fake. Mr. Numismaticclassics ignored an email from me as did Ebay.
