My brother in law had a bag of coins his mother gave him over the weekend. He let me look through them tonight. He had a lot of Kennedy halfs, a few Ikes, some 60's & 70's Lincolns and this list.

1881 Liberty head nickel
1880 & 1881 (both CC's) Morgan Dollars
1922 Peace Dollar
1892,1901,1904,1906 & 1907 Indian Head Cents
1817 Liberty Head Cent
1872 Half Dime (wow, what a tiny coin - bet lots of these were lost along the way)
I have no idea what this last one is. It's copper (or appears to be). On the obverse it has what appears to be the head of George III (?) with a laurel wreath on his head, and on the back there's a sitting lady and the words say "Half Penny Trade Token". The year is 1812. Anybody have a clue as to what this one is?

He said he might sell them all to me for about $150. Would this be a fair price for these coins?

Sorry, no pictures. The coins are still at his house.

Sounds like the best things are the 80 and 81 CC dollars.

Maybe the best way to sell the lot is sell those dollars seperate then the rest as a lot if none are worth much.

Wink

Isn't it fun to look at a batch of coins?
Don't forget to search the cents!

1881 liberty nickels don't exist Confused if it's a shield nickel, that's a $200+ key..

'80 CC's are worth at least $100+ and 81's start at $300, so yeah... buy the lot, who needs brother in laws..
