I saw that on Ebay last week Garry. Pretty nice coin, and being an 09S VDB and an off-center to boot makes it possibly a one of a kind. Even so...I don't know if I'd ever pay 8500 bucks for it...but then again, that's just me.

I think I'd rather have an 09S VDB whole...I'd take an off-center common date and display it for education, but the keys I want to be problem free.

an MS65 red is in the high 4 figures to low 5 figures now. That is amazing. My 1909 S VDB that is being used in Chucks book to illustrate the VDB design is PCGS MS62RB. I bought that in 1997 for $575. A VF20 was sold at my local shop last week for $625. Its amazing how the prices have shot up on that particular coin.
