I don't typically search Canadian cents but had an unc. roll and found this. Just thought I would share.

Thanks for that interesting die chip. My experience w/ Canadian coins is that not many errors exist, percentage wise, compared to US issues. Canadian coins have many varieties, but I have seen precious few clipped planchets and I don't recall seeing any double struck/wrong metal/struck through/brockaged Canadian coins.

Is that your experience too?

Hi Robert thats what I thought too, good ole canadians getting ready for snow even decorating cents. I agree Robert and frankly there seems to be very little interest thats why I became involved with US coins. I also find US designs to be more attractive (oops), but really if I ever have a question about Canadian coins I either get little or no response. I got tired of trying to get info. I have 4 Canadian clipped cents, also 1 1991 cent with 165 degree rotation and no one gives a hoot I have a small collection of other oddities... but there really is no interest.

I'd hang on to them. I don't know why non-US errors aren't considered to be collectible. There are some spectacular DDs, overdates, etc out there. But if interest in non-US errors ever starts growing, you'll be one step ahead!

I have a few Canadian Coins. But the only variety (Other than the 1947) I have is the 1962 DDO

I have several denominations, ofCanadian coins, but I don't recall having seen one with an error, so far. I'll look again, just for curiosity. The world coin collectors, who also collect the errors, and varieties, would be interested in the ones you have, no doubt. I have many Mexican coins with die clash, doubling, (hub), annd different varieties. I used to collect them seriously, many years, and four kids ago, but the collections went to feed the kids, when there was no job to depend upon. I stareted while living in Mexico, in 1963. Later back th the US, then years later back to Mexico. 18 years total time border area, and interior. Yes, I speak, read, and write the language. We speak Spanish, primarily, here at home. The kids are all bi-lingual, as are most of the grand kids. I have tried to tell them to remember their roots, and their culture. It is a part of who they are. All of them speak Inglish, but that is their problem!

Coop thats a nice 62, the one I have is of course classed as machine doubling I got rotten luck you know. I've got about 6 1979's...all machine doubling Anyway coop nice cent!

By the way Dick there really aren't any Canadian error/variety coins...just ugly ones Didn't you know us Canadians don't make mistakes
