I like the way the seller says:
| Quote: |
| Owner believes all (3) certification/grading companies could not certify or identify it because they had nothing to compare it to and had never seen any coin like it before and may have not realized what they were looking at. |
That means no grading company would certify it as anything at all.

Did you notice the amount of bidders? 52 bids and the same idenity with the same signature/similar names? I don't see anything on this coin but one that looks like it was used as a scateboard on the obverse. Hope he sells it and has to pay the ebay fees....

I wonder where he lost his marbles? That is as ridiculous as any auction I have ever seen! Holy crap! I wouldn't have it with the decimal point 7 places to the left!

Checking today, it looks like a restart! Probably realized that no one would fall for his shilled bid price. I only see tha scratched rim on the obverse where some one used it as a scateboard in a school hallway......

Ebay is full of pit falls and the uneducated are easily swayed into buying junk. Here is another great example.

4 Lincoln Cents With Mint Errors
I posted this over in the CONECA forum and should have posted it here as well. The oddity about this auction is the bidding for all most worthless error and supposed variety coins.
If you have a suspicous looking auction, make it known on the forum sites or you can even contact me. The only way to stop bad auctions is to let people know what they are buying and unfortunately, Ebay will not do that.

I'm always surprised how bidders fight to get junk like the one BJ posted the link for. They paid about 20 times the value of the one off center and the others look like nothing. At the same time they pass up bidding on real varieties. I never understand why people would part with $150 for something when they must have no clue what it is, how can they see those listings and decide "I need that". LOL

I guess the term:
A fool and his money is soon parted.
Has real meaning on Ebay. The wise one bids on things he knows for sure what it is.
