Is this from die deterioration? I think it looks awesome I can't capture the image properly with my set up.

I think it had some die deterioration but also the ripples below the 5 look like the plating is not staying tight on the zinc.

Yes Ed the reverse is coming apart already, still looks really neat under magnification its a very ghostly image.
